..TIME HAS TAKEN ITS TOLL..
..these outfits- we can call them stories- are states of mind which define a maximum individualism, a self pursuit without any clichees,a play allure, where the spirit amuses itself, the ludic becomes the dominant note, generating a confortable feeling. A sort of harmony created between elegance and spontaneity, between restrained and exhuberant.
Studied, wide volumes, in which you cuddle for protection, disimulate a refined taste for luxury and difference. The classic codes “bon-chic”-”bon-genre” are cheered up by the taste for embelishments, descrete but indispensable – showed clearly in prints, jaquards, metal sheens and embroidery.
The generous volumes are balanced by fited shapes and mini lengths which relaunch the silhouette. The personal unfolding manifests in each individual an equilibrum between rigor and sensibility, between force and delicacy, between movement and reverie.Thus clothing becomes the sign of a personal message- an attitude problem in which each person associates in his/her own way contrasting elements. The “Total look” dissapears in favour of a “Total Perso”.
The approached themes associate puritan elegance (with retro 60s influence for structured precise formes) with an urban spirit, where everything merges and is mixed in a playful space (a youthful streetwear with jogging influence and recovered vintage, with romantic exaltation and free layering).
From the tension generated by the natural-technic mix- to the “couture” magic, balanced between tradition and futurism- the spirit of time marks the need of redefining oneself,a personal unwinding in a new equilibrium: the volume play sustained by the energy of colours.
The collection is a project asserted through WBF/GTZ program, a program for promoting designers’ competitivity in the SE of Europe at profile fairs.
The 3rd year students from the fashion department of the UNIVERSITY OF ART AND DESIGN Cluj-Napoca, under the coordination of lect. univ. drd. Elena Basso-Stanescu have imposed themselves at the february edition of CPD Dusseldorf, in a representative space for the avantguard design of the “NEW DISCOVERY” section.
